Priscilla Belle Productions’ early beginnings…to the present…
2002 – Ever since receiving her first grant from the Brooklyn Arts Council to produce a solo play festival targeted to youth and throwing her Mom’s 70th Surprise birthday party (which included communicating with over 50 people, and putting together the scrapbook of a lifetime), Kaypri the Producer was born!
2000-2004 – While working as substitute teacher and teaching artist in a high-needs middle school in BedStuy, she revamped the Drama Club, added a playwriting aspect and produced a showcase of student written scenes and monologues. In addition she helped 18-21 year olds on elementary reading levels create childrens’ books which were exhibited at the Brooklyn Museum. Her favorite position was teaching in an alternative high school where she incorporated hip and the arts to teach autobiography for the Literature to Life program overseen by Dr. Brenda Greene at Medgar Evers College
2011-2016 Onstage, Kaypri continued producing her first solo play Babygirl and completed putting all the chapters together of her Mom’s autobiography for her 80th birthday. Nearly 200 pages! Since then she produced the award winning PSA The Baton, the Ain’t No Half Steppin Comedy Show hosted by Daheli Hall (Good Hair, Dear White People), Tony Baker, Aida Rodriguez, and Insecure’s Yvonne Orji
2017-2018 Kaypri co-produced her second solo play The Good Daughter & The Gooder with JoKovan Productions in Los Angeles. The last performance was Mother’s Day Weekend 2018.
2018 – Present – Kaypri produced her play Everything with MK Productions in Los Angeles. She is currently is pre-production on the short film adaptation.
Kaypri has also worked as a freelance casting director for a number of independent projects; most recently for Stuck starring Javicia Leslie (Supergirl, God Friended Me) and Hari Williams (It’s A Party, Ocean’s Rising).
In addition, she worked for Chris Beal Productions (P.G.A.) learning the film producing ropes until 2018 and continues on as a freelance consultant.
